    Last week during Enterprise Connect Dolby Laboratories launched their newest solution Dolby Voice Room. The solution allows Dolby to fully enter the market for huddle room and small conference room spaces. They aim for Dolby Voice Room to provide a more affordable and simple solution in the workplace.

    A seamless integration between platforms was a driver for Inogen, a respiratory product provider based in Goleta, Calif. Inogen has three large offices, with 350 internal and 18 external sales workers. The company needed to break down collaboration silos and get employees working from the same system for customer relationship management (CRM) and telephony, said Julie Bobbitt, sales manager at Inogen, at an Enterprise Connect panel discussion of organizations that upgraded their contact centers.

The success of Alexa within the consumer world has driven a real desire for professional organisations to be able to leverage this technology in the workplace. We were lucky enough to be able to secure some time with General Manager for Alexa for Business Collin Davis so he could explain how they are looking to change the existing market.

    Enterprise Connect 2018 has come and gone, and this year’s show did not disappoint when it came to solutions for unified communications. Keynotes from companies like Microsoft, Amazon Web Services, Cisco and more highlighted the event. Sessions were held from leading subject matter experts. Workshops and more taught attendees everything from cybersecurity for unified communications solutions to working communications APIs into a UC platform.

    Another Enterprise Connect has come and gone, and there were tons of new announcements. The one that stood out in my mind was Twilio Flex, a new contact center platform that will be available by the end of the year. Going beyond providing basic APIs, Flex is a contact center platform that is completely customizable up and down the stack. It is built on top of Twilio’s application development platform, so it can be used out-of-the-box.
